The 330 metre long multi-span Peace River Construction Bridge is located near Fort St. John, British Columbia. Allnorth was contracted to provide bridge design and erection engineering services for this bridge, which is used to facilitate major civil works related to the construction of BC Hydro’s $8.3 billion Site C Clean Energy Project.
The bridge was designed for 182 tonne (20% overloaded) CAT 777 haul trucks, and was detailed for ease of installation and dismantling at the end of its 10-year service life. This was a design-build project completed in partnership with Ruskin Construction Ltd.
In addition to the Peace River Construction Bridge, Allnorth also provided the design of the 49-metre long 3-span Moberly River Bridge used to assist with project site preparation activities.
Allnorth’s scope of services for the project included:
- Detailed bridge design;
- Bridge erection procedures;
- Falsework design;
- Erection equipment design;
- Bridge pier access platform and piling template design; and
- Field reviews and onsite technical support.
